The City of Melbourne is pleased to invite you to the third Canopy: Melbourne Green Roof Forum to be held on 12/05/09 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at The Order of Melbourne, 401 Swanston Street. 

Canopy is a series of bi-monthly events, managed by the City of Melbourne and supported by Green Roofs Australia.

Join us to hear some fascinating speakers share their experiences working with green urban infrastructure, followed by an informal open mic session where you can share your ideas, pose a question or tell the group about your company's services or products. 

NB One minute open mic time limit strictly (but good naturedly) enforced by way of gong air horn, so remember to make your pitch short, sharp and to the point!

Speakers on the night will include:

Stuart Tyler - Fytogreen: Fytogreen assists in the design, supply, installation, commission and maintenance of roof and vertical gardens. Based on research conducted at their Somerville facility, Fytogreen have developed green walls and roof garden systems that are sustainable, water efficient, lightweight and robust. All their technology uses a biodegradable foam as a growing media which is used throughout the horticulture industry.

Fiona Harrisson - RMIT: Currently Fiona lectures in Landscape Architecture at RMIT University, consults on urban design projects and designs private gardens. Her research focuses on the social and political transformation of cities, its public spaces and inhabitants. The current focus is urban agriculture as a vehicle for rethinking the relationship between public and private space, citizens and Government action in the making of our cities and public spaces.
